On February 22, 2025 , something truly special happened. Our cofounders, Chrissy Lee and Kendra Scott, were presented with a Nevada State Proclamation recognizing their outstanding commitment to introducing youth from underserved communities to the world of computer science. Their tireless dedication to equity in tech education was honored in a moment that left us humbled, inspired, and deeply grateful.

The honor was given during a powerful celebration hosted by @shadesoftheblackexperience at Whitney Community Center (@whitneyccpr) which is a space that continues to uplift and spotlight changemakers doing meaningful work in the Las Vegas community.
We are especially thankful to Assemblywoman @veniciag, who presented the proclamation with grace and genuine support. Her words and presence elevated the moment and reminded us just how impactful community leadership can be.
Being recognized by such a respected organization and an incredible Assemblywoman is not only a tremendous honor, but it’s an unexpected blessing and a motivating reminder of why we do what we do.
At Code E Locs, we remain committed to opening doors in tech and computer science for youth who need it most. This recognition only deepens our resolve.
💡 To every student we’ve taught, every parent who believes in our mission, and every supporter who helps us grow — this recognition is for all of us.
